Palm Beach Gardens Post Office Receives New Automated Postal Center

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony — Tuesday, September 16, 2008

The Palm Beach Gardens Post Office located at 3330 Fairchild Gardens Avenue will receive a new Automated Postal Center (APC) in addition to the existing one. Salvatore Vacca, Officer-in-Charge, stated, “This self-service technology allows customers to do their business at their convenience.” “The additional APC is another tool to provide customer service, reduce the time that our customers wait in line, and provide access to postal services 24/7 and 365 days a year,” states Vacca.

The public is invited to attend the APC ribbon cutting ceremony that will be held at the Palm Beach Gardens Post Office on Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at 11:30 a.m.  There will be postal personnel assisting and demonstrating on just how easy the APC is to use.

Automated Postal Centers are the first self-service kiosk that lets customers mail packages without taking them to the retail counter, the APC provides quicker service during busy periods by performing the majority of transactions customers typically conduct at Post Office retail counters.  They are easy to use and enable customers to mail a letter or package 24 hours a day.

Using credit and debit cards, the APC enables customers to weigh and mail letters and parcels and purchase stamps.  It also dispenses postage in any amount for Express Mail, Priority Mail, First-Class Mail, and Parcel Post services.  The APC also provides mailing information, ZIP Code lookup and Delivery Confirmation services.  The APC provides quick, easy and convenient access for postal products and services just as ATMs have provided for banking customers, but with no extra fee.

Additional APC sites located throughout the city of West Palm Beach are:

Haverhill Branch, 3900 Haverhill Road N, 33417
Palms West Branch, 10299 Southern Blvd, 33411
West Palm Beach Main Post Office, 3200 Summit Blvd, 33406

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
