Postal Service Invites Public to July 19th Passport Fair At African American Research Library & Cultural Center

Fort Lauderdale FL— Planning a vacation?  Make the first stop of your journey a trip to the library. The Postal Service is sponsoring a Passport Fair at the African American Research Library and Cultural Center, 2650 Sistrunk Blvd in Fort Lauderdale, from 11 am to 4 pm on Saturday, July 19.  Below is important information you’ll need to know prior to coming to the Passport Fair:

FEES (only personal checks will be accepted):

$60 – Under age 16   $10 – Under age 16
$75 – Age 16 and older $20 – Age 16 and older 
$25 – Processing Fee (ALL) $25 – Processing Fee (ALL)
$60 – Expedited Fees $60 – Expedited Fees
$15 – Photos $15 – Photos
$75 – Renewals (Adults) $20 – Renewals (Adults)

Proof of Citizenship:

  • Certified U.S. Birth Certificate
  • Naturalization Certificate
  • Certificate of Citizenship
  • Previous U.S. Passport (mutilated, altered, or damaged passports are not acceptable as evidence of U.S. citizenship.)

Identification (current, valid):

  • Driver's license
  • Government ID: city, state or federal
  • Military ID: military and dependents

You’ll need to apply in person if you are applying for a U.S. passport:

  • for the first time;
  • if your expired U.S. passport is not in your possession; 
  • if your previous U.S. passport has expired and was issued more than 15 years ago;
  • if your previous U.S. passport was issued when you were under age 16;
  • if your currently valid U.S. passport has been lost or stolen.                                          

Additional Information:

  • ALL applicants, including minors, must be present.

MINORS 16 and UNDER must appear in person with both parents or legal guardians.
