It’s a ‘Sure’ (Money) Thing

USPS Offers Dinero Seguro to Transfer Funds

Did you know that the U.S. Postal Service offers customers a safe, affordable, convenient method of transferring money internationally? It’s called Dinero Seguro, or Sure Money.

This service allows customers to send up to $2,000 per transaction per day. It uses secure, electronic wire transfers between the U.S. Postal Service and thousands of participating bank branch offices in destinating countries. The recipient’s funds are available within 15 minutes, guaranteed, and without hidden or additional fees.

The sender is required to provide personal identification for transfers exceeding $1,000. Personal identification also is required by the recipients of funds in participating countries. Recipients do not need bank accounts and pay no additional fees in their countries.

Dinero Seguro is provided in partnership with Bancomer Transfer Services Inc. of Houston. Participating locations include:

  • Argentina – BBVA Banco Frances

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
