Miami GMF Postal Store to Host Passport Fair on Saturday, May 17
Pembroke Pines FL — If you’re planning a summer vacation, a trip to the Miami GMF Postal Store will be the first stop on your travel itinerary. On Saturday, May 17, there will be a Passport Fair from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm. The Miami GMF Postal Store is located at 2200 NW 72 Avenue in Miami.
What’s New in Passport Requirements
New passport requirements went into effect in January. Employees may refer to the U.S. Department of State website at http://travel.state.gov and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security website at http://www.dhs.gov/xtrvlsec/crossingborders/index.shtm for additional information.
A new feature is the availability of a Passport Card that only may be used for land and sea travel between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, or the Caribbean. The wallet-sized Passport Card provides a less expensive, smaller, and more convenient alternative for those who travel to these destinations. The Passport Card cannot be used for air travel. The card has the same validity period as a passport book: 10 years for an adult and five years for children 15 and younger.
