Post Office Box Locator Opens Door To Affordability, Convenience, Security

Post Office Boxes.  They’re affordable, convenient, and secure.  Locating one has never been easier.

Post Office Boxes can be found online at usps.com/poboxes.  The new, online locator feature allows you to find box availability, sizes and fees, as well as addresses, phone and fax numbers for each Post Office listed with available Post Office Boxes.

Post Office Boxes are as secure as mailboxes, but provide more flexibility for mail pickup. The convenience of earlier mail delivery is helpful to small business owners.  Boxes provide home-based businesses with the ability to separate business and personal mail.

Post Office Boxes are available on a first-come/first-served basis.  You may find that some Post Offices have high occupancy rates and even waiting lists for available Post Office Boxes.  If so, you’ll need to contact the individual Post Offices to ask about Post Office Box waiting lists.

Interested in renting a Post Office Box?

  • Log on to usps.com/poboxes.
  • Click on “Locate a Post Office Box” on the right-hand side of the page.
  • Use the “Search by Address” option on the Locator by typing your street address and clicking “Search.”
  • This will list Post Offices starting with the nearest location to your specific street address.
  • The alternative “Quick Search by ZIP Code” option lists additional Post Offices nearest the Post Office associated with that ZIP Code.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
