Postal Service to Host ‘Knitting in Public’ Event December 6

Pembroke Pines FL — Knit one. Mail, too. And more.

Don’t miss the “knit in” from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 6, in the South Florida Retail Unit at 16000 Pines Boulevard in Pembroke Pines. Knitting enthusiasts from Miramar’s Tropical Yarns Store will be demonstrating their skills to help the U.S. Postal Service promote its four Holiday Knits stamps.

Today’s knitters are not all in rocking chairs. Knitting is enjoying a surge of popularity among the young and hip. There is a very active knitting blog community and many yarn stores are as much social scenes as they are commodity shops.

Also at this postal “knit in,” employees will demonstrate how many holiday gifts can fit into a FREE Priority Mail Flat Rate Box. If it fits, it ships to any domestic destination regardless of weight for only $8.95. That’s quite a bargain!

Did you know that you can mail that Priority Mail Flat Rate Box and conduct many other postal transactions at a stand-alone Automated Postal Center? There’s no need to wait in line at the retail counter. Come to the Post Office lobby for a FREE demonstration. It’s as easy as one, two, three! Whether you’re a small business owner, heading a home-based business, or a busy consumer looking for an extra hour in the day, APCs are one more way the U.S. Postal Service is responding to the mailing needs of its customers.

Here’s another quick, easy, convenient holiday tip — Want to create your own holiday greeting cards and customized postage? Wouldn’t your family members look nice on a personalized postage stamp on this year’s holiday greeting card? Come to the Post Office for a FREE demonstration at the online CardStore and customized postage websites.

On Thursday, December 6, take a break from the mall and stop by the South Florida Retail Unit at 16000 Pines Boulevard in Pembroke Pines.
