Fort Lauderdale Postmaster to Dedicate Jury Duty Stamp To 400 Citizens at Broward County Courthouse

Jury Duty Stamp

Fort Lauderdale Postmaster Rick Suarez will dedicate an enlargement of the Jury Duty stamp in front of 400 citizens who received a jury duty summons on Monday, November 19. This special stamp presentation will be at 8:15 A.M. in Room 380 of the Broward County Courthouse, 201 SE 6 Street in Fort Lauderdale.

Each year, the U.S. Postal Service continues its tradition of drawing attention to important social causes. This year’s selection is jury duty.

With this stamp, the U.S. Postal Service calls attention to the importance of jury service, an essential obligation, shared by all eligible citizens, that is a cornerstone of democracy in the United States. Under the U.S. Constitution, the American jury system guarantees citizens the right to a trial by a jury of their peers.

“Serving on a jury is an important part of public service to our communities, and this stamp is an excellent way to highlight its significance,” said Suarez.

The U.S. Postal Service produced 40 million 41-cent stamps in a pane of 20. Jury Duty stamps may be purchased at your local Post Office…online at usps.com…or by phone at 1-800-STAMP-24.
