Mendez v. Westminster Stamp

Pembroke Pines, FL —  Postal officials will participate in two dedication ceremonies for the Mendez v. Westminster stamp this week:

Tuesday, October 16, 8:30 AM
Gator Run at 1101 Glades Parkway in Weston

Wednesday, October 17, 1:00 PM
Miami-Dade School Board at 1450 NE 2 Avenue in Miami

What’s the history behind the Mendez v. Westminster stamp?

A World War II-era legal case in which a group of civic-minded parents in California successfully sued to end segregation based on national origin in their schools, the Mendez et al. v. Westminster School District of Orange County et al. court case.

This year is the 60th anniversary of this groundbreaking lawsuit known as Mendez v. Westminster.
