Ocala to realign three zip codes 34471, 34474 & 34480
Postal Customers notified of upcoming changes by First Class Mail

Effective June 11, 2007 the U.S. Postal Service will be realigning three ZIP Codes in Ocala  to handle growth and to maintain the current levels of service.

3,973 customers that were previously 34474 will be assigned to Zip code 34471.
1,881 customers that were previously 34471 will be assigned to  Zip code 34480.

Some delivery routes have also been realigned and in some cases customers will now have a different postal location to retrieve articles requiring a signature or pick-up. Customers affected by ZIP code and pick-up changes have been notified by First-Class Mail.

Attached are samples of the customer letters and maps showing the area of the individual ZIP Code and pick-up changes.

“Customers will have a full year to notify their correspondents of the ZIP code changes, “said Ocala Postmaster William Carter. “Businesses are advised to use up their existing stationary prior to purchasing stationary with the new ZIP code.
