Friday Ribbon Cutting for New Postal Contract Unit in Salem
Salem —Stop at the busy four corners in Salem, take a stool by the lunch counter and order stamps with your soda pop. Or, leave your package and get a sandwich to go.
The latest Postal Contract Unit in Connecticut, opening in Salem on Friday, adds mailing services to the convenience and charms of Babe's Country Deli.
Colchester's postal officer in charge, Robert Paddock, will lead a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, November 7 at 10 a.m. to welcome the Contract Postal Unit at 20 Hartford Road. The public is invited.
The postal unit at Babe's Country Deli will provide a full line of postal products and services including postage stamps, Express Mail service, Priority Mail service, special services, packaging products and more. This year's holiday stamps – featuring four classic Holiday Nutcrackers — are already in stock and on sale at Babe's Country Deli.
And, according to Mr. Paddock, the timing could not be better.
“This postal unit brings 72 extra hours of postal services to the area, every week, with weekday hours that meet the schedule of even the busiest commuter," he explained. "With the holidays right around the corner, we know Babe's customers will enjoy buying stamps or sending packages right here. We could not ask for a better partner at a better time."
The hours of operation for the Babe's Country Deli are 5 am to 5 pm weekdays, Saturdays from 7 am to 2 pm and Sundays form 7 am until noon.
