Friday Ribbon Cutting for New Postal Contract Unit in Stamford
North Stamford — Visit a copy center and customers have envelopes in hand. Go to a post office and those same printed sheets are stamped, sealed and sent.
Blend the two activities and you have the new Postal Contract Unit at the High Ridge Printing and Copy Center, on 1009 High Ridge Road in North Stamford.
Stamford Postmaster Mark Dolan will join local postal officials and Elena Padin, Senior Constituent Services Representative for Congressman Shays, in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, May 30 at 11 a.m. to welcome a Contract Postal Unit to the neighborhood. The public is invited to visit the new unit.
The postal unit at High Ridge Printing and Copy Center will provide a full line of postal products and services including postage stamps, Express Mail service, Priority Mail service, special services, packaging products, and more. High Ridge Printing and Copy Center is family owned, operated for over 20 years by husband and wife Jon and Christine DeCrescenzo.
“This postal unit expands the reach of our service to the growing business and residential community in North Stamford area. We believe local residents will take full advantage of the convenience of printing and shipping from one location,” explained Postmaster Dolan.
The hours of operation for the High Ridge Printing and Copy Center are 8 am to 6 pm weekdays and Saturdays from 8 am to 3 pm.

What is a Contract Postal Unit?
A CPU is a Post Office that is located inside a retail establishment and operated by the retailer’s employees. CPUs provide postal services to remote, under-served, and seasonal locations where traditional post offices are not available or are over burdened. The postal unit at the High Ridge Printing and Copy Center is the 24th CPU in the Connecticut District of the Postal Service and the second to open this spring in the Stamford area, expanding mailing and postal services in the region.
A CPU can be supplier-owned or supplier-leased site operated by the supplier. It is operated under contract to the Postal Service to provide postal services to the public.
