Mail Call! Post Offices offer Americans great new package discount for mailing overseas to troops

DENVER, CO — One of the best shipping values for family and friends of America’s military troops serving overseas is the new Priority Mail Large Flat-Rate Box.

Using the new Priority Mail Large Flat-Rate Box, Americans can fit as many items, regardless of weight, into the box, and mail it to any overseas military APO/FPO (Army/Air Force or Fleet Post Office) address for only $10.95.

That is a $2 savings off the $12.95 price using the same box to mail items anywhere in the U.S. — which is already a great deal.

The new Priority Mail Large Flat-Rate box is also 50 percent larger than the Postal Service’s other two current Priority Mail Flat-Rate boxes. The new larger box is sized at 12" x 12" x 5 ½" and holds nearly 800 cubic inches. The boxes are  FREE and available to customers in Post Offices, at usps.com/supplies or by calling 1-800-610-8734.

Two smaller Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes, not eligible for the military discount, can still each be used to ship items for a flat $8.95 price, regardless of weight, to any U.S. destination and to overseas military addresses. The two original Priority Mail Flat-Rate boxes are sized at 13.25” by 11.75” by 3.25” and the other 11” by 8.5” by 5.5.”
