New Lobby Hours and Automated Postal Centers extend 24/7 service at two Long Beach Post Offices
Free demonstrations on easy, convenient alternate ways to mail and ship
LONG BEACH, CA — Two Post Offices in Long Beach have extended their public lobby hours, providing customers access to P.O. Box mail and automated services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Full service retail hours remain the same.
Both of these locations ― Bryant Station at 2234 N. Bellflower Blvd. and Belmont Shore Postal Store at 5050 E. 2nd St. ― have Automated Postal Centers (APC) installed that offer customers the option of taking care of postal business anytime they please.
The APC is a customer-friendly kiosk that performs 80 percent of the transactions performed at the full-service retail counter, accepts credit and debit cards for payment and prints a customer receipt. The APC allows customers to bypass the full-service counter during busy periods and expands access for customers whose schedules are outside normal Post Office business hours.
The APC weighs mail and dispenses two-dimensional barcode postage in any denomination for Express Mail, Priority Mail, Parcel Post and First-Class Mail. Customers using the APC can even purchase Delivery Confirmation for packages. An APC collection container securely accepts packages and mail processed on the APC machine. Customers can also purchase postage stamps and look up ZIP Codes and compare rates with the APC.
Both Bryant Station and Belmont Shore locations will be hosting lobby demonstrations this Saturday, August 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be staff in the lobby to show customers how easy the APC is to use, as well as other new ways to take care of postal business online whenever convenient.
There will be an APC demonstration this Thursday, August 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the GMF Station Post Office, located at 2300 Redondo Blvd. in Long Beach. This APC location is also accessible 24/7.
