Debbie Ansted to be Sworn in as Vallecito Postmaster

VALLECITO, CA —Debbie Ansted will be sworn in as the new Vallecito Postmaster on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 11:00 a.m., at the Vallecito Post Office, 3511 Main Street.

Ansted, 44, began her career with the United States Postal Service in 1987 as a letter sorting machine clerk at the Fresno Processing and Distribution Center (P&DC). In 1988, Ansted transferred to the Stockton P&DC and worked there for 12 years. In 2000, Ansted transferred to the Angels Camp Post Office as a retail clerk. In 2006, Ansted was promoted to Postmaster of Snelling.

“Being a Postmaster is an honor and privilege and allows me to be part of a community,” said Ansted.  “My goal is to create a positive environment and to serve my customers.”

Ansted resides in Copperopolis, with sons Sean, 17 and Aaron, 14. When not at work, Ansted enjoys volunteering with her son’s school and sports.

As Vallecito Postmaster, Ansted oversees the daily operations of 1 rural route and 310 Post Office Boxes, serving a Vallecito population of 427.

Sacramento District Post Office Operations Manager Bobbi Riley will administer the oath of office.
