Northern California Fires Affect Mail Delivery
Northern CA — The Butte, Shasta, Tehama and Trinity County fires have residents volunteering to evacuate their homes. The U.S. Postal Service is asking these residents to contact their local Post Office to place their mail deliveries on a temporary mail delivery hold. This will ensure that the mail is secure and safe while the residents are away from their homes. This will also allow for an easy and convenient pick-up location.
Customers affected by the non-delivery can pick up their mail by showing proper identification at their local Post Office.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation, 146 million homes and businesses, six days a week. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
