Postal Service Recognizes Palo Alto’s Endicia.com at 2008 National Postal Forum
ANAHEIM, CA —The U.S. Postal Service today recognized Endicia.com of Palo Alto with its Corporate Business Achievement Award for the company’s commitment to a successful business partnership with the Postal Service. At each National Postal Forum, a select group of Postal customers is acknowledged and recognized for their contributions to the continued success of the mailing industry.
The Corporate Business Achievement Award, one of three “best in class” awards presented annually at the Forum, recognizes Endicia.com’s business partnership with the U.S. Postal Service and commitment to using postal products and services to strengthen and grow its business.
Endicia.com (“Endicia”) became a USPS approved provider of PC Postage services in 2001. Today, Endicia offers a range of PC Postage products to meet various customer needs, including the only PC Postage product for Macintosh users. In addition, Endicia is a participant in the Postal Service’s Customized Postage market test which allows customers to order postage over the Internet containing a personalized image.
Although Endicia entered the PC Postage market a few years behind other providers; they now are the number one seller of USPS products and services over the Internet. Endicia’s accomplishments can be attributed to its technological innovations and attention to customer needs and concerns. In response to package shipping customers concerns, Endicia developed has developed several shipping solutions, including Platinum Shipper™; a PC Postage product that can save on shipping dollars by highlighting the benefits of USPS products and services.
Endicia has been the leader in providing shipping solutions to Postal customers. Endicia’s Platinum Shipper is designed to operate in connection with free software provided by competitive carriers. The software highlights saving opportunities by avoiding common surcharges and taking advantage of USPS alternatives. Platinum Shipper incorporates address verification, residential and rural extended area surcharge prediction, and USPS postage-paid shipping label generation and management. For International destinations, postage shipping labels come with pre-filled customs forms.
Endicia’s success in marketing Platinum Shipper to users of competitive carriers has contributed to increased Postal Service revenues. Since its inception, Endicia has sold over $1.3 billion in Postal products and services over the Internet through its PC Postage products. Nearly 50 percent of that revenue is from Priority Mail services. Their PC Postage products are now used by over 100,000 customers. Postage revenues have grown by an annual average of approximately 75 percent over the past five years. Their unique ability to provide package shippers with effective and easy-to-use USPS shipping solutions has further cemented the USPS/Endicia partnership for years to come.
“I congratulate Endicia.com for having recognized the vital importance of innovation, teamwork, communications and customer satisfaction using the mail,” said Susan Plonkey, vice president, Customer Service, U.S. Postal Service.
The National Postal Forum is the mailing industry’s premier trade show and event. More than 7,000 industry professionals attend the four-day conference that features 140 workshops and special sessions, four symposiums and 13 professional certificate programs.
