Postal Service Recognizes AIGDirect.com of Woodland Hills at 2008 National Postal Forum

ANAHEIM, CA —The U.S. Postal Service today recognized AIGDirect.com of Woodland Hills with its Creative Business Solutions Award for the company’s commitment to a successful business partnership with the Postal Service. At each National Postal Forum, a select group of Postal customers is acknowledged and recognized by for their contributions to the continued success of the mailing industry.

The Creative Business Solutions Award, one of three “best in class” awards presented annually at the Forum, recognizes customers who have demonstrated creativity by finding new ways to use mail to drive significant business results. Winners in this category have taken calculated risks by using the mail in new and different ways to help achieve their company’s business objectives with successful, quantifiable results.

Started in 1958, 21st Century Insurance had become a leading direct-to-consumer personal auto insurance company in the nation and insured over 1.5 million automobiles across the country.  In September 2007, 21st Century Insurance Group and AIG Auto Insurance joined forces to become aigdirect.com. The combined nationwide organization is a top 10 auto insurer with over 3.5 million vehicles insured and is a division of the American International Group, a leading international insurance organization. By combining the strength of two leaders in direct-to-consumer personal auto insurance, they can offer much more as they expand every aspect of their business, from customer service, to claims handling to broadening their portfolio of value driven insurance products.

“I congratulate AIG for having recognized the vital importance of innovation, teamwork, communications and customer satisfaction using the mail,” said Susan Plonkey, vice president, Customer Service, U.S. Postal Service.

The National Postal Forum is the mailing industry’s premier trade show and event. More than 7,000 industry professionals attend the four-day conference that features 140 workshops and special sessions, four symposiums and 13 professional certificate programs.
