Riverside and San Bernardino Post Offices Score High in Customer Satisfaction Survey

5 Star Customer Service Winners Provide Excellent Service

SAN DIEGO — The Gallup Organization released the rankings of its quarterly customer satisfaction survey and the results are good news for many residents in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.

Each quarter, Post Offices that exceed a preset score tabulated by the Gallup Organization are recognized with a 5 Star Customer Service Award. This quarter, awards for the top 10 scores go in order of the highest score to Crestline, Joshua Tree, Blythe, Loma Linda, Lake Arrowhead, Murrieta, San Bernardino Uptown Station, Big Bear City, and Yucca Valley. Moreno Valley and Palm Springs tied for the 10th spot.

“Regardless of where these Post Offices finished in the lineup, the fact that they all received 5 Star recognition is a plus for Postal Service customers and a morale booster for our employees,” said Crestline Postmaster Jeri-Lynn Miller. “This award reinforces our desire to offer Crestline residents great service and to do it consistently.”

The 5 Star Customer Service Award is based on a combination of customer satisfaction survey questions asked of residential and small business customers that measure accuracy of clerk information, clerk efficiency, accurate mail delivery and consistent delivery time each day. Scores are based on an average percent of “excellent” ratings along with the best wait-time-in-line scores of 5 minutes or less.

Most Riverside and San Bernardino County Post Offices (3-digit ZIP Codes 923-924-925) belong to the San Diego Postal District, which is one of three districts in California and Hawaii that qualified for the 5 Star Customer Service awards. There are eight districts in the two states.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
