Beverly Leymaster to be Sworn in as Lodi Postmaster

LODI, CA — Beverly Leymaster will be sworn in as the new Lodi Postmaster on Friday, May 9, at 9:30 a.m. at the Lodi Post Office, 120 S. School Street.

Leymaster, 52, began her career with the United States Postal Service as a city letter carrier in Stockton. After four years as a letter carrier, Leymaster was promoted to a staff position at the Stockton Management Sectional Center (MSC). During the next seven years, she served in a variety of support positions, including Growth Manager, Delivery Service Analyst, Associate Office Coordinator and Account Representative. She also served as Officer in Charge at the Westley, Linden and Ripon Post Offices. In 1992, Leymaster was named Customer Relations Coordinator for the Stockton Post Office, a position she held for 10 years. In 2002, she was detailed to Manager of Customer Services at Calaveras Station in Stockton. From there, Leymaster was appointed Postmaster of Riverbank, and in 2005 she was appointed Postmaster of Galt.

“The Lodi Post Office will continue to provide our customers exceptional service at a reasonable cost,” said Leymaster. “All of our employees will be working hard to bring that service to our customers where they live and work and to improve our customers’ retail service experience.”

Leymaster resides in Stockton and has two daughters, Carrie and Katie. When not at work, Leymaster enjoys doing home improvement projects.

As Lodi Postmaster, Leymaster oversees 108 employees and the daily operations of 55 mail delivery routes. The Lodi Post Office delivers daily mail volume of 136,878 mail pieces to 28,988 residences and businesses and 1,269 Post Office boxes serving a Lodi population of 63,000.

Post Office Operations Manager Bobbi Riley will administer the oath of office.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
