Select Post Offices to Collect and Postmark Mail Until Midnight April 15
LOS ANGELES — Select Post Offices will extend hours on Tuesday, April 15, to collect and postmark federal and state income tax returns for last-minute tax filers who want the safety and security of sending their personal information through the U.S. mail. Several of these Post Offices will also offer retail service beyond their normal operating hours.
Customers who need to find the closest Post Office that will be open late on
April 15 can call the Postal Service, toll free, at 1-800-ASK-USPS.
The following Post Offices will collect mail until midnight April 15 or extend regular operating hours:

Mail deposited into all other blue collection boxes and Post Office lobby mail drop slots will be collected at posted times.
The Postal Service reminds customers to ensure they have the proper postage on their tax returns. The first ounce (about four sheets of paper) on a letter-sized envelope is 41 cents. The first ounce on a larger, flat-sized envelope (bigger than 6 1/8 inches x 11 ½ inches) is 80 cents. Additional ounces are 17 cents each for both size mail pieces.
