Jim Severi to be Sworn in as Woodbridge Postmaster

WOODBRIDGE, CA — Jim Severi will follow a proud tradition dating back to 1945 when the first Postmaster of Woodbridge was installed. On Friday, October 2, 2009, 2 p.m., 1049 E. Augusta St., Woodbridge CA 95258, Severi will raise his right hand to take his official oath of office.

Severi, 63, started his postal career in 1984 as a letter carrier in Stockton. In 1992, he was promoted to Supervisor Customer Service at the East Stockton Station. He transferred to the Tracy Post Office in 2004 where he served as a supervisor until his promotion to Postmaster of Woodbridge.

“As a Postmaster of a small community, there is a great deal of satisfaction that comes from providing excellent customer service at a more personal level,” said Severi. “It is an honor to represent and promote the positive image of the Postal Service.”

Severi has two sons, Greg, 34, of Stockton, and Chad, 29, of Brooklyn NY. Severi resides in Stockton.

Severi enjoys attending live blues concerts, cooking and woodworking. He believes in community outreach and is a member of the Lodi/Woodbridge Elks Club.

As Woodbridge Postmaster, Severi oversees six employees who process and deliver a daily mail volume of 8,500 pieces to 1,400 delivery points (addresses) within two rural routes, and 1,524 Post Office boxes.

Bobbi Riley, Manager Post Office Operations, will administer the oath of office.
