Wildfire in Santa Cruz Mountains Affects Mail Delivery
SANTA CRUZ, CA — A raging wildfire that has forced the evacuation of thousands of homes in the Bonny Doon area has also caused the temporary curtailment of mail delivery to 353 addresses, while the U.S. Postal Service takes action to make the mail available for customer pick up.
Most of the affected deliveries are made by Highway Contract Route 63 that serves Pine Flat, Bonny Doon, Ice Cream Grade, Towhee Drive, North West Drive, South West Drive, Kelly Lane, Comstock Land, McLean Place and Emerald Forest Place; and Highway Contract Route 61 that serves Bonny Doon, Felton Empire, martin Quail, Thayer, Country Estates and Carter Road. All the areas are within the 95060 ZIP Code.
Affected residents with proper ID can pick up their mail at the Santa Cruz Main Post Office, 850 Front Street, Santa Cruz. A sign has been posted on the Firm Caller Door for fire-impacted customers to pick up their mail.
Customers are advised to call the Santa Cruz Post Office at 831-426-0144 for updates on mail delivery and if they have any questions.
