Rose Mims to be Sworn in as New Pinole Postmaster
PINOLE, CA—Rose Mims will be sworn in as the new Pinole Postmaster on Wednesday, July 22, 2009, 9:00 a.m., at the Pinole Post Office, 2101 Pear Street. The public is invited as Post Office Operations Manager Anthony Daniels administers the oath of office.
Mims started her U.S. Postal Service career in 1981 as a distribution clerk at the Walnut Creek Post Office. She began her management career after graduating from the rigorous 16-week Associate Supervisor Program in 1997. A year later, she became a supervisor of Customer Service at the Suisun Post Office. Prior to her selection as the Pinole Postmaster, she served as the Crockett Postmaster from 2003 to 2009.
“My customers and employees are essential to our business, and customer service begins with our employees,” said Mims. “I believe that excellent customer service comes from involving, challenging and entrusting my employees to work as a team to provide outstanding service to all postal customers.”
Mims resides in Vallejo. She has one son, Gene Lofton, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her leisure activities include reading, traveling and gardening.
Mims has management responsibility for 31 employees, 7,638 delivery points, covered by 16 city and rural routes, 1,121 P.O. Boxes, and daily mail volume of 22,220 pieces. Pinole’s population is 20,000.
