Passport Fair Expected To Serve Hundreds

U.S. Postal Service Offers Customers Convenient Service for Travelers

LOS ANGELES, CA—The United States Postal Service is offering passport application services for the convenience of customers who have travel plans that require a passport. Their first stop should be a trip to this special Passport Fair hosted by the Los Angeles District Postal Service.

The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative went into effect June 1, 2009. U.S. citizens must now present a passport book, a passport card or other document approved by the U.S. government when entering the United States by land or by sea from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda.

Passport applicants are welcome to visit the Los Angeles Main Office Lobby located at 7101 S. Central Ave., Los Angeles CA 90001. The hours of the Passport Fair are:

    8:30 AM – 5:30 PM Tuesday, July 14, 2009 to Friday, July 17, 2009
    8:30 AM – 1:30 PM Saturday, July 18, 2009

Requirements for a passport include:

Proof of U.S. citizenship, either in the form of a certified copy of the applicant’s birth certificate issued by the city, county or state (CA abstracts or photo copies are not acceptable) or a Certificate of Citizenship or a Naturalization Certificate

Valid form of photo identification, such as a driver’s license, government ID or military ID. A photo copy of this piece of identification also is required.
