Postal Service Ends Industry Mail Processing Study Without Changes
CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA — The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) announced today it is terminating its Area Mail Processing (AMP) study of mail processing operations at the Industry Processing and Distribution Center (P&DC) located at 15421 E. Gale Ave.
The reason for the study was to determine whether consolidation of mail processing functions would help eliminate excess capacity and make more efficient use of facility space, staffing, equipment and transportation.
After careful review, it has been determined there are no significant opportunities to improve efficiency or service through consolidation of all Industry P&DC mail processing operations into another facility at this time.
All customer services currently available at the Industry P&DC will continue unchanged, such as retail service, P.O. Box service, and bulk business mail acceptance.
Streamlining operations and improving efficiency across the board is a constant, ongoing USPS process. The Postal Service will continue to evaluate its operations, networks and functions in order to uphold its public obligation of providing affordable, universal service while meeting the evolving needs of its customers.
