49th Annual WESTPEX Stamp Show to be Held in Burlingame

San Francisco Airport Marriott is home to the show taking place April 24 – 26

BURLINGAME, CA — The U.S. Postal Service will once again be a key player in the internationally recognized WESTPEX Stamp Show taking place at the San Francisco Airport Marriott Hotel, 1800 Old Bayshore Hwy., Burlingame, CA, April 24 – 26.

Staff from the San Mateo Post Office will be at the show to support the philatelic community and its new generation of collectors. Show attendees will have a chance to purchase the new WESTPEX ’09 Souvenir Cachets, which come in four different designs, the 2009 Presidential Inauguration Day souvenir set, first day of issue covers, uncut press sheets and other postal merchandise.

More than 50 events are planned for the WESTPEX Stamp Show. Featured societies are the American Air Mail Society and the Society of Israel Philatelists; both have provided over 150 frames of exhibits and will hold special meetings. Stamp enthusiasts can also enjoy the exhibition of more than 300 frames of stamps, postal history and postal stationery along with an outstanding bourse of 75 national and international stamp dealers. There will also be numerous meetings and seminars hosted by a variety of stamp societies and study groups, which are open to all WESTPEX attendees.

Stamp show admission is $5.00, which is good for all three days. The show opens at 10 a.m. each day and closes at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 4 p.m. Sunday.
