Make Your Way to ‘The Postal Internet Café’
March 26 and 27
SAN JOSE, CA — It isn’t every day that the Post Office doubles as an Internet café, but that’s exactly what customers will find during USPS.com Week.
All San Jose Post Offices are participating on Friday, March 27, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to noon, with the exception of the Main Post Office at 1750 Lundy Avenue which will have the same hours on Thursday, March 26. Customers will learn how easy it is for them to do business with the U.S. Postal Service at “The Internet Café — Featuring USPS.com.” With a computer and Internet access, customers have their very own Post Office right in their home or office — one that’s open 24/7.
“Just about anything you can do at a Post Office, you can do online at USPS.com,” said San Jose Postmaster Sammy Vasquez. “We’ll help you learn how easy and economical it is to use USPS.com to ship packages, order free eco-friendly Priority Mail and Express Mail shipping supplies, print and pay for shipping labels, and request free Package Pickup — just click and ship.” Vasquez said.
Postal Service employees will be on hand to give customers hands-on information on USPS.com and to show how using USPS.com can help save them time and money. The Postal Service offers customers online discounts between 3 and 11 percent when they ship online.
“The Postal Service is the most economical way to ship packages,” Vasquez said. “When you use Click-N-Ship online at USPS.com, you receive free Delivery Confirmation and shipping discounts — up to 11 percent off the price you’d pay if you visited the Post Office. And remember, the Postal Service doesn’t add fuel surcharges or other hidden fees, even for residential delivery or Saturday delivery. It’s a real value for your money.”
