Phoenix-area Postal Locations to Offer Assistanceto Last-minute Income Tax Filers on Tuesday, April 15
PHOENIX – Postal employees will provide late-night collection of mail at four Valley locations on Tuesday, April 15, to assist last-minute tax filers.
The locations and the services provided are:
Phoenix Main Post Office
4949 E. Van Buren St.
Retail service and drive-through collections until midnight
Paradise Valley Mall
4568 E. Cactus Rd., Phoenix
Tax drop-off & stamp sales, 6 pm. until midnight
Peoria Sports Complex
16101 N. 83rd Ave., Peoria
(¼-mile south of Bell Rd, enter on Mariners Way)
Tax drop-off & stamp sales, 6 p.m. until midnight
Tempe Marketplace
2000 E. Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe
Tax drop-off ONLY, 6 p.m. until midnight; NO stamp sales – proper postage must be affixed in advance
Outside Phoenix’s Main Post Office, tax returns will be collected along the south side of Van Buren Street. Retail services will be available until midnight, including access to the Automated Postal Center.
Correct postage is a must on tax returns. First-Class postage is 41 cents for the first ounce and 17 cents for each additional ounce. Postal customers are encouraged to check the collection times posted on each blue collection box to ensure pick up on April 15.
People who want to avoid the crowds are encouraged to mail their income tax returns before April 15th. In that spirit, the Sinclair Gas Station at 1045 N. 24th St. (24th and Roosevelt) — Phoenix’s newest Contract Postal Unit — is hosting a Grand Opening event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, to encourage customers to mail their tax forms early.
The Sinclair Contract Postal Unit offers a full line of postal products and services, including postage stamps, Express Mail® and Priority Mail® service, International Mail, special services and much more – all at regular USPS prices. The Grand Opening event will include free hot dogs, soft drinks, a giant dinosaur kids’ play zone, and prize drawings every hour.
