Santa, Piano Music & Knitters to Greet Postal Customers Dec. 8 as Kick Off for Mesa Post Office’s ‘12 Days of Christmas’ Events

Kickoff for the Mesa Post Office’s annual 12-day holiday music celebration

When:
8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007

Where:
Mesa Main Post Office, 135 N. Center St., Mesa

Event:
The Mesa Post Office renews its annual tradition of local musicians making the holidays bright with Saturday’s kickoff event featuring appearances by Santa Claus at 8 to 8:30 a.m.; and again from 12:30 to 1 p.m.; the J-Street  Singers from 8:30 to 10 a.m.; and Mesa pianists Susan Baker (10 to 11 a.m.) and Linda Hartman (noon to 2 p.m.). Postmark artist Keith O’Brien will autograph envelopes bearing the special Mesa postmark he created to celebrate the day’s event from 9 to 11 a.m. (The special postmark will be available to apply on any cards or envelopes bearing First-Class postage stamps.)

Also, in recognition of the new USPS Holiday Knits stamps, artists from Downtown Mesa’s Fiber Factory store will display knitted items and demonstrate knitting techniques from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The public is invited for free refreshments while enjoying all of Saturday’s holiday activities.
