USPS Vice President to Provide Keynote Address at Sept. 19 Phoenix Postal Customer Council Session Marking National PCC Day

TEMPE, AZ — The Phoenix Postal Customer Council (PCC) is pleased to welcome Walter O'Tormey, United States Postal Service Vice President, Engineering, as the keynote speaker at its meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 19.
Businesses that use mail to communicate, conduct business or grow revenue will want to take this opportunity to hear from one of the Postal Service's lead executives about how the Postal Service is using technology to improve mail delivery across the United States.
Attendees at Wednesday's meeting will also view a live broadcast marking National PCC Day which includes remarks by U.S. Postmaster General Jack Potter. A complimentary light breakfast will be served at the free event; no pre-registration is required.
O'Tormey was named Vice President, Engineering, in June 2005. In this role, he reports to the senior vice president, Operations, and oversees all engineering and development efforts focused on internal processes, including building and equipment maintenance programs and policies, such as those for the organization's Automated Postal Centers and Integrated Retail Terminals. O'Tormey directs all engineering and acquisition support functions, including the design and development of new automation, material handling systems and vehicles.
The Phoenix PCC, which has both executive and advisory boards, has members from the private business community and the local U.S. Postal Service and is one of more than 200 such councils in the United States. The organization exists to inform its members on postal and mail industry communications. Membership in the organization is free.
