Douglas Post Office Passport Applications
By Appointment Only Starting Monday, Aug. 13

DOUGLAS, Ariz. — To reduce wait times for customers, effective Monday, Aug. 13, the Douglas Post Office at 601 10th St. will offer passport application services by appointment only.

Douglas Postmaster Pamela Campbell-Vinson said increased demand for passports has caused extended wait times for some customers who come in for the service.

“By making appointments, we’ll be able to make each customer’s visit to the Post Office as quick, easy and convenient as we possibly can,” Campbell-Vinson said.

Passport appointments are available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays and may be arranged by calling 520-364-3631, Campbell-Vinson said. She noted passport photo service is also available, allowing customers to complete their passport applications and mail them with one convenient stop at the Post Office.

Detailed information and printable passport applications are available at the U.S. State Department’s website: http://travel.state.gov/passport. The site also includes details on the required documentation customers must bring with their applications.

Campbell-Vinson urges those planning to apply for a passport to obtain the appropriate application forms online, print them and fill them out ahead of time to speed up the process.

It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $73 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
