At the conclusion of the ceremony, Grijalva and Tucson Postmaster Carl Grigel will unveil a dedication plaque for the building. The public is invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.

Udall was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1961 and served Arizona there for three decades. He ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1976.

Completed in 1972, Tucson's Main Post Office building employs 500 people and serves as the hub of postal services for southern Arizona.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits 146 million homes and businesses, six days a week. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to cover its operating expenses. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $73 billion and delivers nearly half the world's mail volume.
