Little Rock Postal Employees Service Donate $1650 to Three Local Charities

Little Rock Postal Employees will donate $550 each to the Watershed, the Stewpot and the Arkansas FoodBank Network.

During the Christmas season customers see postal employees working hard to get all the cards and packages delivered before Christmas Day.  What most customers don’t see are the things the postal employees do to help others in need and their community.  In addition to donating over $100,000 to the Combined Federal Campaign this year, many volunteer hours to serve food, drive the elderly to appointments and give from their hearts.  There are many who are local heroes in Arkansas and have saved people from burning houses, alerted officials of customers who may be hurt and trapped in their homes, and helped children who are hurt or lost.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
