Terry Wilson was named vice president of Area Operations for the Southeast Area in October 2006. He reports to the Deputy Postmaster General and Chief Operating Officer. He is the senior postal official in an area that encompasses Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee and is responsible for postal operations including mail processing and distribution, customer service and sales and administrative operations.
Earlier, Wilson served as manager of Operations Support in both the Southeast and the Southwest Areas. He played a significant role in restoring postal operations to affected areas of Texas and Louisiana following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005.
Wilson, who has served in a variety of Postal Service positions, including district manager for Houston and Oklahoma, began his postal career as a custodian in 1975.
