Jerry Whalen was named vice president of Sales in June 2003. He is responsible for the achievement of $58 billion in commercial revenue with mailers, both large and small, and is responsible for the national sales organization. He reports to the president of Shipping and Mailing Services.
He comes to the Postal Service with a record of significant accomplishments at Xerox, where he spent 25 years in sales leadership positions. Beginning as a sales trainee at Xerox, Whalen advanced through a series of field and headquarters assignments, which included: manager of customer satisfaction, manager of sales management process, vice president and general manager of the Ohio/West Virginia customer business unit, vice president and general manager of the Northern Ohio customer business unit and vice president for national sales operations, consumable supplies, where he significantly improved profit margins and top-line revenue.
Throughout his career, Whalen has been responsible for multi-channel organizations, which include direct and indirect sales and telemarketing.
Whalen has extensive experience in both federal and commercial sectors. In all his endeavors, he has been a national leader in business results, as well as customer and employee satisfaction.
