David Shoenfeld was named senior vice president of Mailing Services in July 2008. He reports to the president, Shipping and Mailing Services, and is responsible for the growth and development of all postal mailing products, including First-Class Mail, advertising mail and Parcel Post. These products produce nearly 90 percent of all Postal Service revenue.
The Shipping and Mailing Services division has integrated roles in pricing, operational support, service enhancements, partnerships and investment activities — all critical to the success of postal products.
Shoenfeld has more than 30 years of leadership experience, including 20 years at Federal Express, where he rose through the ranks to become senior vice president, Worldwide Marketing.
Prior to joining the Postal Service, he was vice president of Marketing with NextEngine, an innovative technology development company based in Santa Monica, CA, where he was responsible for marketing and business strategy.
At Federal Express, Shoenfeld launched the FedEx Overnight Letter and Business Service Center retail network. He developed key markets for FedEx’s Asian express services and helped lead the company’s European market turn-around to profitability. During his tenure, FedEx did much of its brand-defining marketing communications work.
He also served as Federal Express senior vice president of Marketing, Customer Service and Corporate Communications, where he led the company’s efforts to manage its reputation and identity through advertising, internal and external communications and customer service.
Prior to his FedEx tenure, Shoenfeld worked at Western Union Corp in a series of marketing management positions over a 10-year period. He earned a BS in Business Administration from Northeastern University.
