Michael J. Daley

Michael Daley was named Vice President, Area Operations for the Pacific Area in October 2006. In this role, Daley is the senior postal official in an area that encompasses California, Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa and the trust territories. He reports to the Deputy Postmaster General and Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for all postal operations including mail processing and distribution and customer service and administrative operations.

Daley oversees approximately 89,000 employees who process and deliver 95 million pieces of mail each day. He also administers an annual budget of more than $6.8 billion.

A 36-year Postal Service veteran, Daley served as district manager of customer service and sales in the Northland Performance Cluster since 2002. Earlier, he served as postmaster of Portland, Oregon.

Daley's other postal positions include director of city operations, field operations, and human resources in the former Portland, Oregon, Field Division. He received the Postmaster General Award in 2005.
