Kathleen Ainsworth was named Vice President, Retail Operations in February 2008 and reports to the Senior Vice President of Operations. Ainsworth's newly-created position reflects the Postmaster General's strong focus on customer access, revenue and profit growth, and cost management.
Earlier, Ainsworth served as vice president of Delivery and Retail since January 2007 after serving as acting vice president since September 2006, and was responsible for retail, delivery, and vehicle operations involving the nation's more than 37,000 Post Offices, stations and branches, including retail service equipment and retail access channels.
Ainsworth has served as district manager and lead executive of the Northern Ohio Performance Cluster where she was responsible for approximately 12,000 employees at 495 Post Offices, stations and branches covering ZIP Codes 439 through 449, as well as mail processing and distribution plants in Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Mansfield and Youngstown, Ohio.
A postal veteran since 1974, Ainsworth began her career as a mail handler in Missoula, Montana, and also has served as area finance manager for the Allegheny (now Eastern) Area.
Ainsworth holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, a Bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Montana, and has attended executive education courses at Stanford and Harvard Universities.
