This study was conducted to determine if the Postal Service could increase efficiency and/or service by consolidating originating distribution operations that are currently being performed at the Jackson, TN facility by taking advantage of available processing capacity at the Memphis, TN facility.
Although a review of the study confirmed that the AMP is operationally feasible, proceeding with implementation of the proposal as evaluated would result in degradation to service standards. The Postal Service devotes careful attention to the consideration of any operational change and we will continue to examine how we can improve our operations to meet our customers’ needs.
